About the Artist

Chaim Machlev, the visionary tattoo artist behind DotsToLines, is renowned for his distinctive approach to tattooing that melds minimalist linework with an organic sense of movement. Working out of vibrant Los Angeles, Machlev creates tattoos that are unmistakably his: geometric forms, intricate dot work, and flowing lines that interact beautifully with the body's natural curves. His work is deeply influenced by the movement and energy that flow through each individual, resulting in designs that feel alive and timeless.

Machlev’s art often emphasizes connectivity, with pieces that only reach their full expression when two people are together—a modern take on friendship tattoos that, when united, form a complete, dynamic picture. This emphasis on connection speaks to his skill as both a designer and a tattoo artist, merging conceptual art with the intimacy of tattooing. His tattoos are not only recognizable but iconic, with a style that enhances the wearer’s body as it moves, creating an ever-evolving canvas of minimalist beauty.
